Mahakalika temple, Pavagadh is one of the biggest pilgrimage destinations, in the dynamic state of Gujarat, that appeal to leisure tourists too. Millions of visitor throng this temple throughout the year. It is a famous Hindu and Muslim pilgrim centre, located at Pavagadh in Panchmahal District of Gujarat. Situated amidst dense forests, the temple is considered to be one of the 51 ‘Shakti Peethas’ according to the Hindu mythology. Legends have it that, the right toe of Goddess Sati, fell here. The holy complex is divided into two parts with the idol of Goddess Kali on the ground floor; and a Mazaar (tomb) of a Muslim Peer is seen on the top part of the shrine.
